On December 11, 2006 I had the great honor to be asked to aid in the release of a great horned owl to its natural habitat, following a successful year-long rehabilitation at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program in Fort Collins, Colorado. There was no doubt this carefully handled bird was ready and anxious to make its return to the wild!
